How to use Midjourney to Create a Company Logo
Midjourney is an artificial intelligence program that generates images from natural language descriptions or “prompts”. It is similar to other AI image generators such as DALL-E 2 and Stable Diffusion. Midjourney is particularly known for offering a dream-like, arty style to generated images, which may be of interest to those working in science-fiction literature or gothic art.
Many companies when starting out are looking to have a company logo created. Without having to pay hundreds of dollards to have prototypes created, you can follow along with using a tool like midjourney to create a company logo.
Signing up to use Midjourney
- First you want to head over to Midjourney’s Website and click there “Join The Beta” Button.
- Then it will direct you to discord where you will need to signup for a discord account.
Before we get started we then need to decide what kind of logo we are trying to make. Midjourney specializes in photo realistic designs but using the correct prompts could yield great results.
Choosing The Type of Company Logo to Design
There are different logo types such as mascots, emblems, Letters etc. Lets take a emblem logo for a fictitious company called “Nitro Garage Repair Shop”. This shop is looking for a simple design of a car with a nice orange color background with a blue car.
Creating your prompt
Prompts in midjourney start by:
- First typing /imagine and then whatever you want
- The bot will send you 4 images in 60 seconds
- Click numbered buttons underneath to get upscales (U) or variations (V)
For our company Nitro Garage Repair Shop we will create a prompt like this “/imagine an enblem of a blue sports car in the sunset, vector, simple, no photorealistic details”

Midjourney vs Dalle-2
For comparison that same prompt using Dalle-2 did not produce the same results. I feel as if Dalle-2’s image was not as professional as i would have liked. When working with Openai’s Dalle-2, I noticed that the quality of images was very lacking when it came to putting detail into some images.

Ai has made it a lot easier to do task that you would not have been able to do yourself years ago. Using midjourney to create a company logo can help give you some ideas to possibly pass on to graphic designers to further improve on. This great tool could be a great way for designers to help give potential clients some help as well in bringing out their vision.
